Renewable Heat Incentive Encourages Interest in Heat Energy Meters

After an initial delay in the launch of the Government's Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), this scheme is now open for applications. The RHI provides financial support for non-domestic renewable heat generators to encourage the uptake of renewable heat technologies such as biomass boilers, solar thermal, ground and water source heat pumps.

Within a few days of the RHI launch, icenta has already received a number of enquiries for heat meters and heat energy calculators which can be used as part of the scheme. One option, the ICT Heat Meter, is an all-in-one in-line compact heat meter that measures the energy used to heat water in kw/hr. It is economical solution for flow rates up to 2.5m3/hr with a choice of a pulsed output in kw/hr or an Mbus output. For larger flow rates, icenta can offer multi jet or Woltmann hot water meters (or a cold meter for chilled water applications) in conjunction with a wall mounted heat energy calculator. Also, 2 temperature pockets must be used, one for flow and the other for return.
